October 2010

February 12, 2011 at 7:59 pm (Uncategorized)

October was relatively uneventful, phew! The girls recovered from broken legs and chicken pox and we helped Margaret celebrate her birthday in style. Iris, Phoebe and Lily had a great time decorating the cake and we even managed to find a few leftover sparklers to finish off the evening.

September 2010

Following on from the accidental injuries of August, a week before Lily’s cast was due to come off, Phoebe decided it would be a good time to bring home chicken pox from kindy. Of course, she kindly shared the pox with all three of her sisters! Lily’s first spot appeared the day before her appointment to have her cast removed – thankfully the hospital provided a quarantine room in the Orthapaedic Clinic so it came off as planned. The upside of four cases of the pox in 2 weeks? Never again! We had a low key celebration for Sarah’s birthday – a family dinner followed by a dessert party for the grown ups.

George came with Lily and I to her hospital appointments.

August 2010

January 23, 2011 at 8:10 pm (Uncategorized)

August is where the year started to get a little crazy! Sarah started the month by jamming her thumb in the sliding door of our car, neatly slicing her thumbnail in half (you’ll be pleased to know there are no photos of that!). The same week, she received a “glam” makeover for a local mum’s evening called Desperate Housewives – hair and make-up by Paula, clothes by Jeanswest (but they didn’t let us keep them!). Towards the end of the month, Lily fell from Iris’ top bunk and received the dubious honour of being the first Campbell girl to break a bone – 6 weeks in a cast from toe to thigh, hopefully she’s also the last because we’re not in a hurry to repeat that experience! Highlight of the month was Phoebe turning 4. Party theme was the zoo and it was certainly a zoo in our house as we had a huge range of furry friends turn up.

The big birthday weekend! (18-21 June 2010)

January 23, 2011 at 2:23 pm (Uncategorized)

The birthday celebrations kicked off on Friday with Iris’ last day at kindy, followed by lunch at the Fisherman’s Table in Paekakariki, courtesy of Granmarg. Saturday was the big party with over 20 4 and 5 year olds, plus parents and younger siblings. Iris chose a spooky theme and spent a fair bit of time at kindy making spooky decorations. Amanda excelled herself with a wonderful witchy cake. Sunday was Iris’ actual birthday and then on Monday, we had the excitement of her first day at school. Phew, I feel tired just thinking about how busy those four days were!

June was a big month for us. Iris turned 5, finished kindy and started school, meaning a huge weekend of marking the occasion. There was so much going on that weekend that I’ll dedicate a whole post to it! Here’s a selection of pics from the rest of the month…

May 2010

May saw our little Lily turn 2! She celebrated in style with friends and family and enjoyed an amazing Upsy-Daisy cake, thanks yet again to the very clever Amanda. Here’s an overview of our merry month of May.

March 2010

January 20, 2011 at 10:02 pm (Uncategorized)

As a way of catching up, I’m going to post a selection of photos from each month of 2010, starting with March. Iris and Phoebe were both busy at kindy, Lily spent a huge amount of time riding bikes outside. Tessa was still struggling to put on weight so we were busy with midwife and Dr’s appointments but we still managed to have some fun in between!

Small but mighty!

Looking pensive

While dressing Tessa after her bath, I could hear Lily crashing around saying "I did it". Turns out "it" was undressing herself and hopping into Tessa's bath!
